Counselling Mantra

Hi there, I’m Smruthi Shah.

When we connect, along with speaking with a registered counsellor (with the Australian Counselling Association (level 2) and New Zealand Association of Counsellors(MNZAC)), you can also expect to have a series of conversations (it is a process and depends on each individual as to how many conversations might be helpful) that are confidential* and in a non -judgemental space where you can feel heard.

These sessions would be online only so one can access them, and it gives us the flexibility of connecting without the hassles of extra time for travel or parking and so on. We might initially discuss the process so feel free to ask any questions, following which I would love to get to know you and explore with you the challenges or specific areas of your life that you would like to discuss. We can then explore what your values and goals are and which ones you might like to focus on for our sessions together. We might reflect on different perspectives, discuss techniques, go through processing emotions, or reflect together on different aspects of the situation.

I enjoy the process of facilitating you in your journey to connect more with yourself so you can live your life in the most meaningful (to you) way realistically possible with given challenges or limitations that you might be experiencing. This process can support you in healing, learning, and growing. It might include improving how you – connect with yourself, connect with others around you, understand yourself, be present, understand and explore aspects of your identity, learn to be comfortable with yourself and practise self-compassion, it could be opening up to emotions, understanding their functions, and how to navigate emotions, healing from childhood trauma and much more.

I encourage you to reach out and take the next step towards your goals. I look forward to being there for you as your counsellor.

note: This is not a crisis service so if you need to talk to someone urgently please contact 1737 or for emergencies 111.

We can chat about the right fit and the process in a short 15 minute conversation free of cost and then we can discuss how I can support you further if you are happy with that

Experience

I have enjoyed working with adults for over 7 years through various settings and I look forward to joining you on your journey towards a more fulfilling and balanced life.
