Experience

I have worked in mental health as a psychotherapist for more than 20 years.  I changed my career in my late 30s from a technical background to becoming a psychotherapist and working with individuals and groups. How to improve one’s current experience of life and understand how past experiences impact our life in the now. Meditation and the body-mind connection have always been among my interests.

Throughout my psychotherapist career, while maintaining a private practice, I worked with clients on past and current trauma events, feeling low and/or anxious, or feeling numb. I have collaborated with various organizations within the mental health sector. My experience includes supporting both those affected by abuse and individuals seeking to change problematic behaviours. Additionally, I have led and supervised mental health teams and have been fortunate to receive training in various modalities to meet the diverse needs of the people I have worked with.

Approach

I am a client-centred psychotherapist, and my work is informed by a broad spectrum of experiences. In my psychotherapy practice, I incorporate modalities like EMDR and DBT, for example. In addition to my extensive background in mental health, I bring insights from various work environments to my psychotherapy practice. I have also a particular interest in the dynamics of teams at workplaces and apply this understanding to support the well-being and development of my clients around work-related queries. My approach is adaptable, incorporating evidence-based methods that range from relational and body-mind practices to cognitive and psycho-educational techniques. I aim to help clients identify and transform life patterns and beliefs, fostering a more satisfying and connected life that positively influences both their personal and professional spheres.
