Therapy as a self-discovery journey that heals the heart and mind along the way
I currently have availability - get in touch to see how I can help you If you'd like to get therapy underway please contact me so we can arrange a free initial consultation or our first session.
AnnouncementAiming to foster a collaborative relationship between us, our therapy sessions will focus on relieving distress as well as personal growth, improving your emotional resilience, hope, self-understanding and relationships.
As well as enabling self-discovery, I am experienced in supporting people living through challenging circumstances and breaking frustrating behavioural patterns. These include separations, difficult family relationships, parenting or work stresses, overwhelm, relentless worry or on-going sadness. Whether you’re wanting support through a tough time or wish to improve your self understanding and overall mental wellbeing I can help. My experience also extends to working with neurodivergent experiences, cultural/identity confusion, living as an Adult Third Culture Kid (ATCK) and somatic issues. I offer both short and long-term therapy in person and, at times, on-line.
As therapy progresses, it’s likely you’ll gain a deeper self-understanding of yourself and start to feel increasingly at ease with yourself and others. Exploring, and reflecting on, your life experiences with curiosity and empathy in therapy starts a personal change process that can improve your mental wellbeing. I aim to meet your evolving needs in my practice by drawing on a range of psychodynamic theories.
I work with adults aged from 18 to 80+ and I have a particular interest, and strength, in complex family dynamics, work stress, peri-menopause, overwhelm, diverse cultural identities (including Adult Third Culture Kids), neurodivergent experiences and auto-immune illnesses. My clinical experience also extends to working in Auckland DHB with older clients with chronic mental health challenges. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in corporate, non-profit and government organisations.
While Tāmaki Makaurau has been my home for the last 20+ years, I have experience of living with, and across multiple cultures. My extended family consists of people from four continents. My studies focused on developing my knowledge of how our childhood and current life experiences combine with culture, ethnic diversity and immigration to influence identity, relationships and ultimately mental wellbeing.
If this type of therapy sounds appealing to you, I look forward to having an opportunity to meet with you and potentially working together.
