Terri-Anne works alongside parents and their infants/ young children who are having difficulties with emotional, social, behavioural or developmental issues. She also offers therapeutic support for expectant and new parents struggling with adjustment to parenthood.

Counselling Services

When meeting Terri-Anne, she will take time to talk through the things that are concerning you and your child. You can discuss how you want things to be and what will help you move in the direction of your goals. While addressing your immediate concerns, therapy can also help you and your child to feel more positively about yourselves and your relationship.

Terri-Anne has a particular interest in supporting young children who are struggling with anxiety. She offers a number of skill-based anxiety management programmes.

Counselling Approach

A safe and supportive environment is provided to explore, learn, be heard, and develop new skills.

Terri-Anne has experience and training in a wide variety of methods, which allows her to choose an approach that you and your child will feel comfortable with. She uses a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches (incorporating play therapy, attachment-based dyadic therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, and psychodynamic therapy) as well as direct parent coaching. Terri-Anne always keeps you and your goals at the heart of the therapy process and will support your family to build on strengths so that change occurs at a lasting level.

Background and Experience

Terri-Anne is a parent of two children, and has over 20 years’ experience working therapeutically with young children and families.This has been in a variety of settings including community agencies in New Zealand and overseas, and she has considerable experience within DHB Infant and Child Mental Health teams.

Terri-Anne’s specialist counselling service ‘PiP therapies’ operates out of Remuera and Parnell, Auckland.

Q Registrations and Memberships

- Registered with New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC)
- Certified ‘Parent Child Interaction Therapy’ therapist
- Registered ‘Circle of Security Parenting’ programme facilitator
- Certified in NCAST Parent-Child Interaction Feeding and Teaching scales.

Q Qualifications

- Post Graduate Diploma in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy
- Master of Arts (Applied, Social Work)
- Bachelor of Arts (Psychology)

Q Fees

- $140 per session
- Internet banking or cash at time of appointment.

Q Cancellations

Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel. A late cancellation fee will otherwise be charged as it is rarely possible to fill appointments at short notice.
