Hi, I’m Yi (pronounced like the letter E). My family name is Zhang. I’m a New Zealand-trained and registered psychologist and I’ve been practicing here since 2014.

I’m Chinese and while that is an important part of who I am, it’s only one part. I bring a wide range of experiences and values that shape how I relate to people. I enjoy working with clients from all kinds of backgrounds and don’t believe in putting anyone into a fixed box.

Whether you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, relationship challenges or life transitions I’m here to support you with warmth and practical care. My style is warm and practical combining understanding with helpful strategies to support you in making positive changes.

I aim to create a space where you feel safe, supported and free to be yourself. You don’t need to have everything figured out. We can start from wherever you are.

If you’re looking for a compassionate and down-to-earth approach to therapy please get in touch. I’m here to help.
