People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, overwhelming emotions, or feeling stuck or unsure how to move forward. Others seek support during periods of transition, such as migration, fertility treatment, parenting, separation, career changes, or other significant life events.
Whatever has brought you here, I offer a warm, thoughtful, and non-judgemental space where we can explore your experiences together. My aim is to help you make sense of what is happening in your life, better understand yourself and your relationships, and find new ways of responding to life’s challenges.
My background is in counselling and psychology, and over the years I have worked in a variety of mental health settings, including crisis support and addiction services. These experiences have given me the opportunity to work alongside people from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of life experiences and challenges.
I hold postgraduate qualifications in psychology and am currently undertaking post-qualifying training in adult psychotherapy with the Australia and New Zealand Association of Psychotherapy. Ongoing professional development, clinical supervision, and reflective practice are important parts of my work and help me continue to grow as a therapist.
I believe that every person’s story is unique, and there is no single therapeutic approach that suits everyone. For this reason, I tailor therapy to your individual needs, drawing on psychodynamic, humanistic, cognitive, and mindfulness-based perspectives.
I am particularly interested in how early attachment experiences, relationships, and significant life events shape the way we see ourselves and relate to others. At times, understanding these patterns can help us make sense of present difficulties and create opportunities for change.
Alongside deeper exploration, I also aim to provide practical support where needed. I see therapy as a collaborative process and strive to create a respectful, compassionate space where you can explore difficulties at a pace that feels right for you.
