Counselling/Therapy Approach

I believe that we get hurt in relationships and we heal in relationships. My approach is focused on the therapeutic engagement based on safety, respect, authenticity and genuine care. Our early experiences shape the way we relate to ourselves and others. In adult life, these ways of relating often determine our choices – for example, romantic partners and careers. Psychodynamic psychotherapy is the whole-person approach to explore and transform these underlying ways of relating (recurring patterns) and develop capacities to create more fulfilling experiences in all aspects of life. With enhanced self-awareness and increased emotional freedom, life becomes a meaningful endeavour filled with love, creativity and satisfying relationships.

Background and Experience

My clinical experience includes working at Lifeline Aotearoa, Auckland District Health Board (Auckland Sexual Health Clinic), educational setting (Auckland University of Technology Psychotherapy Clinic) and private practice. I have had a privilege to work with people from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
