I am a child psychotherapist working with children aged 5–10 years and their families. My work is play-based and child-centred, offering a safe space for children to express how they are feeling.
Before training as a child and adolescent psychotherapist, I spent over ten years working as a high school teacher in New Zealand and Australia. I am also a mother of two primary-school-aged children, which gives me a grounded understanding of family life and the everyday challenges parents and children navigate.
I have worked in non-profit organisations supporting children and families across Auckland. I bring care, curiosity, and respect to every child and family I meet, and I work closely with parents to help make sense of what their child might be experiencing and to support helpful ways of responding at home. When needed, I also collaborate with school SENCOs, teachers, and other professionals to support children across both home and school settings.
My work focuses on creating a safe and trusting relationship where children can express themselves through play. I work alongside parents to better understand their child’s needs and to support practical, supportive ways of responding that strengthen connection, emotional safety, and confidence at home and in other settings.
Therapy usually begins with an initial parent-only meeting, followed by a small number of play-based sessions with the child. A feedback session with parents then helps guide next steps together.
