Areas of Special Interest
Most clients come to see me as a result of life changes; for personal development; grief; pet grief; in search of greater fulfilment; for unresolved childhood issues; depression; abuse or other trauma and resulting Post Traumatic Stress.Disorder.
Talking through things with a therapist can lead to new perspectives on life, an increased sense of personal choice, acknowledgement of your own strength and resources, and a richer sense of connection with yourself and others. Psychotherapy can help to change unhelpful behaviours in our lives a well as helping us to understand where these patterns originated.
Working with me as a psychotherapist can help with self-limiting decisions and beliefs - such as “I don’t matter” – “there isn’t enough for me” – “I don’t belong” – “don’t be” – “don’t be sane” – “don’t succeed” – “I don’t deserve” – “don’t trust” – “don’t need” …………
My relational approach also uses the therapeutic relationship as a vehicle for interpersonal healing.
It is important for me is to create a space of respect, dignity and new potential for every human being. My goal is for clients to become their own resource having strengthened their resiliency through our work together. I intend to create a healing environment for clients to safely explore, and through a process of self-empowerment connect to their greater sense of aliveness. I work with clients of all cultures, nationalities, denominations, gender and sexual orientations.

Background and Experience
During my “first adult life’ I pursued an industrial career in the UK working on directorial level. This involved visits to all continents and many countries.
During my “second adult life” I chose freedom and spent six years with my husband living on a sailing yacht on the circumnavigation which ultimately brought me to New Zealand.
Now, in my “third adult life,” I am as passionate about working with my clients as I have been about anything I have done previously. Prior to moving to the Nelson – Richmond – Motueka area in 2018, Counselling-Therapy has for ten years been my private Psychotherapy and Counselling practice in Northland.
