Areas of Special Interest
Areas I can support you with include: Anxiety, depression, anger, stress, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, sexual identity, difficult life choices, self-esteem and values and goals.
Our initial session will involve exploring what has brought you to therapy. Together we will build an understanding of what may be contributing to your current concerns and identify your goals for treatment. I will then tailor a plan to meet these needs.
Therapy can be reflective in nature (with a focus on building insight) and/or skills-focused (learning specific strategies for managing difficult thoughts, feelings and behaviours).
I value building a strong therapeutic alliance through a warm, calm and flexible therapeutic style.
I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, depending on your individual needs including:
- Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT)
- Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
- Motivational Interviewing
