Counselling/Therapy Approach

My therapeutic approach is a ‘Synthesis’ of Relational Psychodynamic, Humanistic, and Cognitive Behavioural modalities. ‘Synthesis’ also refers to the goal of integrating the parts of one’s Self into a well-functioning whole, bringing balance and meaning to life.

Background and Experience

  • 20 years experience in Social Services, Psychotherapy, Counselling, Supervision, Youth Development, and Clinical Leadership/Training.
  • Particular expertise in Addictions and Trauma.
  • Previously a Senior Lecturer in Mental Health and Addictions.
  • Currently a Clinical Team Leader for a DHB Specialist Mental Health Service

Supervision Services

I offer clinical/professional supervision of Counsellors, Therapists, Social Workers, Psychologists, or Drug & Alcohol Practitioners (Qualified or in training). Either in-person at Titirangi or Online via Zoom.

My supervision experience includes supervision of: 

Volunteer Phone Counsellors at Youthline (2004-2005)                                        AOD Practitioners/Students in Alcohol & Drug Services (2010-2012)                  Mental Health tertiary students on clinical placements (2012-2014)                            Specialist Consultations for Social Workers at Oranga Tamariki (2014-2017)            Supervision for Counselling Psychology and Counselling students on placement in a school counselling department setting (2020-2024).                                      Supervision for Counsellors, Psychologists, AOD Clinicians in Private Practice

Q Appointments & Fees

- Individual Therapy (Weekly): $160 (60 minute session)
- Individual Counselling (Fortnightly): $170 (60 minute session)
- Twice weekly Psychotherapy: $280 per week (2 x 50 min sessions)
- Clinical/Professional Supervision: $170 (60 Minute session)
- Couple/Family Therapy: $210 (60 minute Session)
- Couple/Family Therapy: $250 (75 minute Session)
