Holistic Counselling – Claire Welch

Nurture Your Inner Wisdom

Why Choose Holistic Counselling

Choosing a counsellor is personal, and the right fit matters most. We treat you as a whole person, not a list of symptoms, and we always start with a relaxed, no-pressure chat.

We look at the whole picture
Your mind, body and emotions are linked. Rather than just managing symptoms, we help you understand what sits underneath them, so change can last.

Qualified and registered
Claire is registered in New Zealand and overseas, with postgraduate counselling training and a Master’s degree in psychology. You are working with someone experienced.

An easy first step
You don’t need to commit to anything to begin. A free 15-minute chat lets you ask questions, get a feel for how we work, and decide in your own time.

Q What is Holistic Counselling?

Holistic counselling looks at the whole of you, your body, your mind and your spirit, rather than treating one problem in isolation. A lot of what we carry shows up in more than one place, so the way you sleep, the way you hold tension, the thoughts that loop at night, these are often connected. My work is to sit with all of it alongside you, gently, and see what wants to be understood.

Q What is Process Work?

Process Work is the main approach I use. It is a client-centred way of working that was developed by Arnold Mindell, drawing on Jungian psychology, quantum physics and Taoism. The idea behind it is that the things troubling you, the symptoms, the discomfort, the stuck feeling, are not just problems to get rid of. When we slow down and unfold them, they often carry the seeds of your own healing and reconnect you with a wisdom you already hold.
